WOW! If you are in the market for a beautiful and capable trawler do not miss STELLA!

STELLA is a beautiful Seaton Ross Nelson 56 Expedition Trawler. A classic Seaton design, long-distance blue water trawler finished to high structural and aesthetic standards in 1989, but with new 2009 engines. Her clean lines are typical of Seaton Yachts with the navy-blue hull, off-white super-structure, and accents of red and teak. STELLA turns heads wherever she travels. Her spacious living quarters provide comfortable accommodations for long-range cruising with her two large staterooms. She is outfitted with multiple systems starting with the twin engines that make for safe and comfortable offshore passages. Numerous amenities and an abundance of storage allow for extended living aboard. At her displacement speed of 7.9 knots, she has a 1900+/- mile range with her fuel capacity. Slow down to 6.5 knots and her range extends to 3,000NM.

STELLA offers a forward pilothouse and modified Portuguese bridge for outside safety. Dogged doors port and starboard allow quick access to both side decks which wrap the boat for all around accessibility at a practical height above the water and dock. Stainless steel railings and coated double life lines have three boarding gates on each side offering a variety of options for docking. Comfortable steps make for convenient access to the flybridge and allow it to be one of the most frequently used spaces aboard for sunrise coffee, sunset meals, and piloting at the upper helm shaded by a new custom made top with stainless steel supports. Room for a dinghy to be mounted on the stern deck, offshore passages are safer, yet the dinghy can quickly swing up and over the stern rail to the water. The stern ladder that accesses the swimming platform makes dinghy boarding convenient as well as lifting groceries and supplies while at anchor. A lightweight aluminum boarding ladder can be placed anywhere along the sides and provides another option for boarding from the dinghy or low floating docks.

Stella has outriggers with paravanes, which mount on the engine dry-stack exhausts, are a non-mechanical stabilization method for higher seas. The owner states that they are seldom needed due to her overall stability at sea and anchor. Many removable interior panels make electrical and mechanical systems readily reached. Padded white ceiling panels on are secured with industrial Velcro and remove for easy access to wiring. Cabinet and drawer doors are custom-made, many with louvered wood for ventilation.

The original owner spared no expense in building Stella, originally Glacier Star, outfitted by Ross Yachts in Clearwater, Florida. Her hull was constructed by Nelson Trawlers in Titusville, FL. With subsequent owners, STELLA has been maintained with many upgrades including two new continuous duty John Deere engines in 2009, Awl-Grip painted topsides fall 2015 and side and aft decks Awl-Grip paint in August 2016. Upgrades since 2018 include through-hull bolts replaced, new props, re-galvanized chain, new aft cabin air conditioning, new life raft, LED lighting, lithium-iron-phosphate house batteries, 12-volt fans, Mantus anchor, new hatch glazing, navigation systems, and numerous other miscellaneous updates. In 2024 STELLA received new bottom paint, a custom made flybridge bimini with stainless steel supports and a new Garmin chartplotter. She is ready to go!

The pilothouse bookcase contains owner’s manuals, notebooks, logs, and original vessel plans since new

2002 Beneteau 42 Center Cockpit

2002 Beneteau 42 Center Cockpit

Designed by world-renowned naval architects, Groupe Finot, the Beneteau 42 CC is a classy bluewater passagemaker that features numerous standard innovations at a value price that is rather remarkable. The 42 CC entices the eye of the traditional yachtsman with the beauty of her striking classic transom. Never seen before in the Beneteau Center Cockpit series, this brand new design’s sleek deck line creates a lean fetching profile while maintaining utmost functionality. On deck, the stylish hard dodger with opening windows provides extraordinary protection to the spacious center cockpit. Standard bulkhead steering opens the cockpit making it extremely easy to entertain and maneuver about. The expansive aft deck is big enough to accommodate several lounge chairs and is perfect for relaxing while at anchor. One of the 42 CC’s most interesting innovative features is found aft: a sliding section in the aft deck conceals a two-tread staircase leading to an exquisite boarding platform on the drop-down transom. While underway, the transom and boarding platform pulls up shut to form the classic transom. Like all Beneteau sailboats, the interior of the 42 CC incorporates beautifully crafted cherry stained cabinetry and joinery. Large overhead panoramic deck lights flood the main salon with light and ventilation. The gourmet galley features plenty of storage for all cooking paraphernalia and has loads of counter space. The luxurious master suite is equipped with a comfy centerline berth, flanking settees for lounging, and a built-in dressing table. But perhaps one of the best features of the 42 CC is the incredible amount of storage throughout.

1997 Wellcraft 45 Excalibur

1997 Wellcraft 45 Excalibur

Owned by a Mercruiser dealer, this 45 has had the best of care with rebuilt engines and new Bravo III X outdrives with heavy-duty transom assembly.  100% ready to go! The seller will assist with shipping from Kerr Lake in NC.

Imagine a monster sports boat, built in Australia by a company respected the world over for its sportfishing boats, sold by a top name in US pleasure boating. The 45 Excalibur is just such a boat. It is built in the land down under by Riviera, then shipped to the United States to be sold by Wellcraft, makers of successful line of cruisers, for the boating enthusiast who wants it all.

In June of 1995, Boating Magazine raved over the then-new Wellcraft Excalibur, praising its construction, which forms “one unibody piece, as though hewed from a solid chunk of fiberglass,” its performance “not so much raw speed, but smooth, light-footed agility, the kind of handling that instills confidence and promotes joy.”

The engines are Mercruiser 415 hp, 502 liter MPI with newer Bravo III X out drives with dual counter-rotating props. This setup pushes the 45 onto plane in four seconds, with a cruise of about 27 MPH at 3,000 RPM. The cruise is over 270 miles, with just a 274 gallon tank. Top end comes at 5000 RPMs, carrying the 7-ton Excalibur up to 53 miles per hour. The boat rides high and dry at speed, carving through chop and settling over swells with un-rivaled panache.  Deck rails and an anchor bracket forward are the only giveaways that this is a luxury craft and not a Scarab spin-off.

The stylish 45, complete with swept back arch and louvred hull side vents, also fairs well below decks. Well-furnished and fully appointed throughout, it is certainly more than just a glorious weekender.

The Wellcraft 45 is a beautiful boat with sleek lines, plenty of space for long trips and efficient Mercruiser 8.2L gasoline engines. On a lake in NC for many years, the seller took the boat to FL and crossed to the Bahamas. He is now ready to sell this upgraded and well cared for Wellcraft Excalibur.
