Overview

Lizzy is a completely customized sailing vessel designed and re-fit for offshore cruising. She is totally self-contained and is a must-see for the serious cruiser. Only one owner had possession of Lizzy Prior to her present owners. Lizzy was purchased with the intent to upgrade her for world cruising. She would ideally be strengthened, set up to be self-contained, comfortable, and dry. CALL THE LISTING BROKER FOR MORE DETAILS.

Lizzy has undergone a complete re-fit and two major upgrades since her present owner purchased her in 2001. At Present she’s in need of some TLC and is priced accordingly with her present condition. She was originally a Great Lakes Freshwater boat and has comfortably taken her present owners through some heavy Lake Michigan storms. In 2003 she was transported to the Chesapeake where she enjoyed new adventures in cruising.
In 2005 she had undergone a Major refit sparing no expense to a better than new condition. This was to serve her owners a retirement cruising adventure. She traversed the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway down to Charleston, SC and from there onto the Bahamas.
In 2006 Lizzy cruised happily through the Bahamas. Lizzy is ready to serve some younger owner/s an outstanding cruising adventure to anywhere they choose. If a cruising lifestyle is tugging at your sleeve Lizzy will not disappoint. She will take good care of you just as she had her previous and present owners.

Deck

Deck and Hull:
Lizzy had a major re-fit in 2005. Photos are available for your review to see the details involved in upgrading her to a world class cruiser. Here is a short list of what was done.
• All Hatches, ports, screens were removed including hardware. Hardware and frames were sanded, cleaned, painted, polished. All received new gaskets and were re-installed with the proper commercial sealants. New Lexan panels were installed in all Hatches and acrylic panels in ports. All hatches were fitted with custom teak screens.
• The hull was sanded prepped and sprayed with two coats of Awlgrip Primer and 5 coats of Awlgrip Paint. The cabin top was stripped of any saturated end grain Balsa Core dried, sanded sealed with Epoxy, New Balsa Core was sanded, sealed, and glassed with layers of saturated epoxy, layered with glass mat and roving, painted with non-skid silica. Every bolted or screwed hole for a fitting was enlarged, filled with epoxy & chopped glass, dried then redrilled with the smaller bolt sized hole so no screw or bolt would expose balsa to any moisture.
Custom Metal Fabricating:
• Safety Handholds added to Dodger.
• Bimini/Solar Panel Mount
• Secondary Anchor Roller
• Backing Plate inside chain locker for Cutter rig
• Mast Deck Ring Backing Plate on overhead.
• Stainless Window Frames w/Teak Interiors.

Standing & Running Rigging
