2003 Catalina 350

The Catalina 350 sloop won the Cruising World Sailboat of the Year award when she was first introduced. It’s easy to understand why, since her design incorporates many great features usually found in larger vessels, which include:

A 13′ beam

An easy rig with roller furling genoa, self-tailing winches and sail controls which are led aft to the cockpit

A large 7′ cockpit with bimini top, deep coamings and high seat backs

Catalina’s trademark wide weather decks, tall life lines and inboard shrouds

A truly divided anchor locker has double rollers and an electric windlass

The interior offers 6′ 5″ headroom, two large private cabins with centerline berth forward. Additional amenities include a double entry head with a separate stall shower, spacious main salon with multiple table and seating options which can accommodate three more overnight guests, if desired, and a true U-shaped galley that will satisfy any cook. The refrigerator alone will be a pleasant surprise to any sailor!  There is abundant storage which is great for extended cruising or for living-a-board.

Interior Overview
The interior of KITE is beautifully appointed and is all about options! The teak and holly sole has easy open panels which provide both additional stowage and access to important systems.  The aft cabin, which can be used as the Master’s Cabin or for storage when there are no guests aboard, has a separate door to port, an inner spring mattress, multiple stowage options, and multiple ports/hatches.

The galley to starboard features a surprising refrigerator with two access openings, a counter access freezer, and even a special trash bin cabinet!  The gimballed propane stove with oven, and the microwave oven offer numerous cooking facilities. The storage is well organized.

The salon has 6′ 5″ headroom, which adds to its spaciousness.  The navigation station is to port, beside a large settee.  There are two easily interchanged table options.  The seating area to starboard can be configured to be either a single settee/bedding option, or two separate seats with a table between.  That conversion is simple and very well thought out.  There is additional storage beneath the settees.

The head, with its shower stall, sink, and toilet, can be accessed via a salon door to port, or from the forward stateroom.

The forward stateroom features an inner spring mattress on the centerline bed, drawers under the bed for stowage, lockers, and multiple ports/hatches.

All 5 of the opening hatches feature screens, internal shades, and coordinating Sunbrella exterior hatch covers.  The 6 opening ports also feature screens and internal shades.

The engine is accessed behind the steps leading into the salon.  The easily removable sound shield gives amazing access to the engine, and has a fire-port feature.
