Overview
The Albin 28TE, with a Downeast look, is one of the most popular models built, with nearly 1000 hulls produced. She is quite stable and seaworthy, both as an offshore fishing boat, and as a comfortable family cruiser. Her hull is full keel, incorporated with a skeg, that protects the prop and rudder and increases the boat's tracking and stability.
The accommodations below are compact but more complete than typical of fishing boats of this size. There is a U-shaped dinette forward that converts to a large V-berth, enclosed head with shower to starboard, efficiency galley to port, including a new Isotherm refrigerator and a double berth to port tucked under the bridge deck.
'Agape" was repowered in 2007 with a new Cummins 6BTA 5.9 diesel, with 300 hp, and currently has 1527 hours. She runs beautifully, and is very economical, getting better than 3 nautical miles per gallon while cruising at 16 kts. See below some of the features and upgrades.
