Overview

A true classic twin engine economical trawler priced to sell!

EXCEPTIONAL LAYOUT * VERY ROOMY

The Prairie 36, designed by J.B. Hargrave, is an intelligently designed trawler boasting more usable room than many 40+ footers. The 36 is a wonderful blend of innovation, comfort and efficiency, and you can’t help but to notice her resemblance to the renowned Hatteras 42 Long Range Cruiser, also a classic Hargrave design. The Prairie 36 is constructed of gel-coated, reinforced fiberglass (hull, deck, stringers, head, etc.). Her interior is designed for maximum livability and safety, providing excellent egress, generous storage spaces and complete two couple privacy in her roomy staterooms. Port & starboard sliding doors open directly to the 14” wide recessed side decks, with their almost hip-high stainless rails, making locking a breeze as well as safe access to the fore, aft & bridge decks.

The Prairie 36 is efficient. Her distinctive underbody reduces resistance for maximum fuel economy, and her long waterline assures commendable semi displacement speeds. Dependable twin PERKINS 4.236 diesels provide the maneuverability and solid reliability necessary for long range cruising.

Broker's Comments

Here is a great example of a true solid twin engine trawler that still has lots of adventures in front of her.  She is lightly used on the Chesapeake Bay with low running hours.

In decent shape with basic cosmetic exterior needs for those of you that want her shiny.  Interior is clean and everything is working.  She is water tight and no window or hatch leaks.  No intrusion.  Canvas is serviceable but needs isinglass soon.  She has great dinghy davits installed a year or so ago. (no dinghy)

Bottom painted a year ago, new cutlass bearings at the same time.  New electric windlass installed by owner with all chain rode.
