Overview
I have owned Sage since 1997 and cruised the Bahamas for 6 summers including 5 Abaco Regattas. In 2008 we repowered her with a 75 hp Turbo charged Yanmar. She did the Great American loop as we unmasted her 3 times. She had new fuel tanks built and installed on Catawba Island Lake Erie that winter of 2009, inside heated storage. She has been as far North as Nova Scotia and south to the Caribbean Then in 2012 she crossed the Atlantic Ocean. The ground tackle was upgraded to an 80 lb. Ronca with 100 meters
of 10-millimeter chain Some deep anchorages in the Med. A Bow Thruster installed for Med Moorings the only way to back up a Bristol. The Mast and Boom were rebuilt in Scarlino Italy 2018/19 all-new halyards, topping lift, shives and pulleys.. new airconditioning was installed in the master salon. This system will run off batteries from the 600 house amp system for 12 hours or more. The fresh water maker was replaced for a new 15 gal per hr unit. The electrical system was upgraded to accept European electrical current with the flip of a switch. Along with a new anchor windlass The standing rigging was replaced as well. THE PANDEMIC arrived S a g e was shipped home on a freighter to Fort Lauderdale 2021 August 2022 anchored in front Saint Augustine Old Fort after a lightning strike. Replace all Top Mast lights, antenna, anemometer, windex, rewire the mast, rebuild as new roller furling
system wiring, control box, electrical motor plus new backup motor. New Raymarine VHF,AIS splitter, chart plotter at helm,cockpit wind/depth gauges, The autopilot was replaced all new Keypad ta helm, computer , electric drive unit all new wiring. Al mast lights were rebuilt or replaced ,new bulbs Deck light ‚steaming lights , Tri color as well as running lights. Al new. Sage just returned from a 10-week Abaco Cruise. The jib is at the sailmaker repairing the sun cover as she tore in a 50 knot thunder storm The Sage is the type of boat you want under you when things get tough She is solid. A great live aboard cruiser Sage is ready to cross oceans and will get you where you want to go. Avery good sailing boat. With the board down she will sail closer to the wind than your average. cruiser
