Overview
1999 Silverton 351 Sedan Cruiser
This 1999 Silverton 351 is a spacious and comfortable flybridge cruiser that has benefited from a substantial list of recent upgrades. Powered by twin Crusader 7.4L gasoline inboards with approximately 1,092 hours, she combines Silverton’s well-known interior volume with a practical cockpit, large flybridge and straightforward inboard power.
The current owner has invested significantly in updating the boat’s mechanical systems, electronics, comfort features and appearance. The hull and topsides have been professionally compounded and waxed, while SeaDek-style marine decking has been installed throughout the cockpit and up the molded stairs to the flybridge.
At the helm, virtually the entire electronics package has been modernized with Garmin equipment, including navigation electronics, autopilot and VHF with AIS. New helm Isinglass provides improved visibility and protection, while blue LED cockpit lighting adds a contemporary touch for evenings aboard.
Mechanical improvements include new deep-cycle batteries for each engine, new port and starboard impellers and thermostats, new engine-room blower motors and replacement of the starboard engine dampener plate.
Inside, the Silverton 351 offers an impressive amount of living space for a boat in this size range. Large salon windows provide plenty of natural light, while the open layout includes a comfortable sofa, raised dinette and functional galley. The forward stateroom provides private sleeping accommodations with additional storage.
Comfort aboard has also been improved with a Webasto 12,000 BTU automatic air-conditioning, heat and dehumidification system. Entertainment has been upgraded with a Rockville stereo system including new speakers and amplifier.
The large cockpit works equally well for entertaining, fishing or relaxing at the dock. Molded steps provide easy access to the flybridge, where there is generous seating for guests and excellent visibility from the helm.
For a buyer looking for a roomy flybridge cruiser without having to immediately address many of the typical electronics and equipment upgrades found on boats of this age, this Silverton deserves a closer look.
